STUDENTS WITH ALL LEVELS OF EXPERIENCE ARE WELCOME IN OUR PROGRAM! Every registered student is guaranteed a role - auditions are just for us to learn more about you.
Act-1's 5th Annual Broadway Revue is back by popular demand! The Revue is open to ALL ages, 7-18. This show is very entertaining for the audience, like a night out at the cabaret featuring Broadway showstoppers (solos, duets and group numbers), dance numbers and vignettes/scenes...
Here's how it works... each student thinks about different songs they love from Broadway shows, or characters that they've always wanted to play. (If they are unsure, we can help them select a few). During the auditions, we narrow it down to the song(s) that are best suited for their voices and personality.
Over the course of rehearsals, the kids work closely with a musical director, who helps them showcase themselves confidently and using professional technique.
They may be given some choreography where appropriate. Act-1 provides the costume and the set, and the kids get to perform their dream roles in front of a full house!
It's a valuable experience, kicking the students into a higher gear of responsibility and allowing them to close out the prodution with 1-2 songs under their belt that they have perfected and could later use as an audition piece. a

DEVELOP YOUR SKILLS

VOCALLY
You will be working one-on-one with our musical director to finesse your vocal technique and fine-tune your song(s).

PHYSICALLY
Each child will also be performing in group numbers, and given challenging choreography to help improve their dance technique. All levels and abilites are considered.

CONFIDENCE
There are a couple of things that make this experience such a huge confidence-booster. First of all, selecting and mastering a song that the student then has in their toolkit for future auditions.
Secondly, getting out there alone under the spotlight and feeling what it means to be a solo artist and a Broadway star.
It's an unforgettable growth experience.

We will be answering any questions you have as well as addressing the audition process! At least one parent is required to attend with the enrolling student.
REHEARSALS
Sundays 1-4pm and
Wednesdays 4-7pm
(If enrollment is high, we will add a second cast. They will rehearse Sundays 1-4pm and Thursdays 4-7pm)
