SPRING SEMESTER 2018 - ENROLLMENT CLOSED
A Chorus Line examines one day in the lives of seventeen dancers, all vying for a spot in the “chorus line” of a Broadway musical. After the first round of cuts, Zach, the director and choreographer, asks each dancer to speak about themselves. Discomfort opens into revelation, confession leads to redemption, and the audience begins to see each dancer’s individuality. From Cassie, the star who just needs the “music and the mirror and the chance to dance,” to Val, a small-town girl with a brand-new big-town attitude, to Mike, who took his sister’s place in dance class, saying “I can do that!”
Based on real Broadway dancers’ stories, as told to fellow dancer and choreographer Michael Bennett, A Chorus Line is funny, heartbreaking, and refreshingly honest.

Although we are doing the "clean" version, A Chorus Line has some mature content.
This production is open by audition only,
to students age 12+

This is a heavy dance show, so your dance ability IS important. But we are here to teach you to be a better dancer and mover - what's most important to us is enthusiasm, directability and a fierce work ethic!

MANDATORY ORIENTATION

We will be answering any questions you have as well as addressing the audition process! At least one parent is required to attend with the enrolling student.

PREPARING FOR YOUR AUDITION

SINGING
You will be singing a capella for our Director, Producer and Musical Director. Pick any song from the show that you feel suits you.

COLD READING
Familiarize yourself with the show and the characters in the show... pay attention to their distinct personalities and character traits. That way if we ask you to cold read for a character, you will be able to make some strong choices!

DANCING
This is a huge dance show, so we will definitely be teaching a dance number. This will help us learn more about your dancing abilities. Don't worry - dancers of all levels are needed for this cast!

Total Tuition $545
A $100 deposit is due in order to receive an audition appointment. We will only cash your check if you are cast in the production.
Once you are cast in the show, the balance of tuition will be billed to you in a payment plan that you choose!
