SPRING PRODUCTION 2024

REGISTRATION IS OPEN!

Mus Theatre Revue.png

ACT-1's Annual Broadway Revue is back by popular demand!

Revues are some of our most beloved productions by our students AND our audiences!  The production will feature Broadway showstoppers (solos, duets, groups), dance numbers and vignettes/scenes, and uniquely showcase each individual student. For many of our aspiring thespians, it really is a dream come true - the next best thing to performing on a Broadway stage.
  • Build confidence & develop your skill sets
  • Play a role you have always wanted to play
  • Get beautiful footage for your reel and a new headshot
  • Perform in front of industry professionals
  • Build your songbook/repertoire for future auditions
  • ACT-1 staff will learn more about your range/versatility
  • Have a memorable and fun Spring semester
  • Make new friends, see old ones, and find your musical theatre home!
Here's how it works... each student thinks about different songs from musicals that they love, or characters that they'd love to play!  (If they are unsure, we will help them select a few). During the "auditions" and "callbacks," we'll narrow it down to the song(s) that are best suited for their voices and personality. Kids who do not feel ready to stand alone under the spotlight: we are happy to partner you up in a duet or trio! All students will also perform in several group numbers, and will likely also be featured in other songs as well. We keep you busy 😉

Over the course of the rehearsal process, students work closely with a director, choreographer, musical director, and designers, who will help them to showcase themselves confidently, creatively and using professional techniques. ACT-1 provides gorgeous costumes and a set, and our students get to perform their dream roles in front of a full house!

It's a valuable experience for our aspiring thespians, kicking the students into a higher gear of responsibility. Understanding what it means to craft a solo performance is an unforgettable growth experience and a huge confidence-booster.

When they close out the production, they have a new confidence, and they've mastered song(s) that they now have in their toolkit for future auditions. They also have gorgeous new footage that they can use for their performance reels. And if there is interest, we plan to have an industry night, where we invite managers, agents and casting directors to come enjoy our show and meet our students.
